"Portrait Drawing"

Medium: Graphite

Come to Menucha for 4 days and 3 nights to focus on drawing portraits with Shahrad Malekfazeli. You'll arrive Monday afternoon and depart Thursday before lunch. While you are here, we'll take care of the cooking and dishes, leaving you free to focus on your art. Shahrad has been teaching for many years, and brings considerable skill to help you grow yours.

You may choose to stay on-site or to take the class as a commuter traveling to/from Menucha each day. Scroll down for the details about cost to attend.

 

Class Description

We are going to start with facial features, proportions and study some masterworks as well as drawing from photos, such as your friends, families or even yourself.

First, I’ll demonstrate everything and you can practice afterwards. I will also guide you with the process.

We will work with graphite powder and pencil. Please check out the supply list and bring them with you.

About the Artist

Born to an art-loving family, Shahrad Malekfazeli has been fascinated by the art of painting since he was a child. In 2003, he stablished his own studio and taught art for twenty years until moving to the US. Many of his students are well-recognized artists themselves to this date.

WESTAF approved as an artist with extraordinary ability, Shahrad Malekfazeli has participated in many international exhibitions and has won awards in many competitions including Art Renewal Center in the US, Live Paint Off in Portland, OR, International Salon of Contemporary Art in France and Modportrait in Spain. His works have also been reflected in various International publications and TV reports.
He has also been the Juror of Portland Rose Festival Art Show and Society of Washington’s Artists’ Spring show.

Cost to Attend

All inclusive of 3 nights lodging, 8 meals, and instruction. Limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

Cost is dependent on the choice of room. A shared room will have 2 occupants - you can request a roommate or let us assign one for you.

Single Occupancy - $955 (shared bath)

Shared Room - $755 (shared bath)

Commuter $695  (class, lunches and dinners, no overnight lodging)

Lunch-Only Commuter $663  (class, lunches but not dinner, no overnight lodging)

Depart at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 6
