Throughout the year, Menucha offers programs designed for continuing education, enrichment, reflection and renewal in the areas of Art, Music, and Faith (particularly for those engaged in spiritual leadership). Thank you for your interest in attending one of our programs!

If you do call 911, please notify a staff person immediately. A staff person can be found in our office during regular business hours. If the office is closed for the day, call the main number and dial 3 to reach an after-hours staff person.

Our office is staffed from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm every day. Please feel free to drop by with your questions or needs. All of our staff members are here to serve you.

 

Meal Times at Menucha

Breakfast: 8:00 am     Lunch: 12:00 noon     Dinner: 6:00 pm (Friday dinners at 7:00 pm) Please arrive on time so your food will be hot.

 

Alternative Diet Needs

Do you have a food allergy or dietary preference? If so, please let us know.  We are happy to accommodate guests who notify us in advance of required alternative diets. Computer Access

If you brought your computer with you and have wireless capabilities, you will find that most of our buildings are WIFI friendly. We do not require that you have a password to connect to our system.

 

Mail

Please drop mail off at our office. Mail is taken into the post office every afternoon about 4:15 p.m.  If you need stamps, please speak with someone in our office. If you receive mail, we will make sure to give it to the leader of your group.

 

Corbett Country Market

These folks carry a bit of everything, from deli and grocery items to gasoline.  It is the closest place to pick up the stuff you forgot.  Turn right out of our exit. It is located about a mile down the road in Corbett on the right.

 

Corbett Post Office

Open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed from 11:30 am -12:30 pm for lunch). Turn right out of our exit. It is located about 1 ¼ miles in Corbett on the left.

 

Walgreens Pharmacy – Albertsons Grocery

Turn right out of our exit. Travel down the Historic Columbia River Highway for about 5½ miles.  You’ll see signs for Stark Street and will turn left and cross the Sandy River Bridge. Continue on Stark Street through 2 stop lights.  Just after the 3rd light (Kane/257th) you will see Walgreens on the right in a small strip mall, along with an Albertsons Grocery (which also has a pharmacy inside) and a few other stores.

 

Free Time Sightseeing

If you want to leave Menucha and see a few sights, we’d recommend Vista House (the little building you see as you look eastward into the gorge) and Multnomah Falls. When leaving our property, turn left onto the highway. Vista House is 2 miles away. Multnomah Falls is 10 miles away. See map below of the Historic Columbia River Highway for more information.

 

MENUCHA ALCOHOL USE POLICY

Menucha’s alcohol-use policy states:

“Generally speaking Menucha is a “no-alcohol” environment.  While alcohol is permitted at Menucha, individuals are responsible for their own actions and the consequences of these actions.  Individuals must be discreet in their consumption and considerate of other guests realizing the differing views towards alcohol.   Drunken behavior will not be tolerated.  Alcoholic beverages may NOT be brought into dining room, or used at the pool.  Open containers are not allowed on the grounds.”  Adopted in 2009 by the Menucha Commission

What this policy means for you:

  • Consumption of alcohol at Menucha is neither encouraged nor prohibited.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at scheduled retreat events or in the dining room.
  • Please be considerate of others sharing your housing areas, recognizing the differing views towards alcohol.
  • Please clean up common areas and put empty bottles in recycling containers.

MENUCHA  PET  POLICY

Pets are not allowed at Menucha.  Only service animals are permitted. Please let us know ahead of time if you will be bringing a service animal.

Menucha is located on the south side of the Columbia River Gorge, in Corbett, Oregon, inside the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.  Menucha is 30-40 minutes from air, bus, and train terminals. Freeways I-84 and I-205 provide easy access by car from all directions.  Specific driving instructions complimenting the map above are found below.*

From points north

Take I-205 southbound to I-84 East.  Drive eastward and take exit 22, Corbett Hill Road.  At the top of the hill turn LEFT onto Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow signs toward Vista House/Crown Point and proceed 1.25 miles. You will pass the Corbett Country Market and a fire station along the way. (If you pass the Corbett schools, you are headed the wrong direction. Turn around.) Menucha’s entrance will be on the left side of the road.

From points south
Take I-205 northbound to I-84 east.  Drive eastward and take exit 22, Corbett Hill Road.  At the top of the hill turn LEFT onto Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow signs toward Vista House/Crown Point and proceed 1.25 miles. You will pass the Corbett Country Market and a fire station along the way. From points east

From points west
Take whichever highway you need (SR 26 or SR 30) to get to I-84 eastbound out of Portland.  Take exit 22, Corbett Hill Road.  At the top of the hill turn LEFT onto Historic Columbia River Highway. Follow signs toward Vista House/Crown Point and proceed 1.25 miles. You will pass the Corbett Country Market and a fire station along the way. (If you pass the Corbett schools, you are headed the wrong direction. Turn around.) Menucha’s entrance will be on the left side of the road.

How to know if you’ve gone too far
If you reach Women’s Forum Park you are1/4 mile past us.
If you reach Vista House at Crown Point, you are 2 miles past us.
If you reach Multnomah Falls, you’ve gone WAY too far!
